A community health nurse is appointed to Geraldton Senior College to encourage students to take responsibility for their own health through education, health promotion and support.

Throughout the year various health promotion activities give students the tools needed to make positive and healthy lifestyle choices.

The nurse can identify psychosocial, personal or physical health issues before they can become major health problems and provide advice for early intervention.

Students, teachers and parents can make an appointment to see the nurse and talk over issues such as:

  • Chronic health conditions such as asthma or diabetes
  • General health, diet, weight, sleep issues
  • Anxious, confused, feeling down, unsafe feelings
  • Family conflict and relationship issues
  • Sexuality and sexual health

Parents or carers of students are also most welcome to make an appointment to discuss their young person’s health needs.

Please contact the nurse on 08 9965 8425.
