The carnival began in cloudy weather, and the initial forecast wasn’t promising, however this didn’t affect the spirit of those in attendance and the competitors who were seriously swimming for their houses. The day became warmer as did the competition.

As per previous years, the event kicked off with the caterpillar relay providing a good warm up for students entering the 50m freestyle races immediately after. The Year 12 boys needed it as they were up against both the Swain teachers in this event who haven’t lost their touch.

The novelty events were great fun with all houses having an enjoyable attempt at the simple activities, those who preferred to get sandy chose to stay out of the water and compete in the annual House vs House Beach Volleyball contest. Here are a few photos of how it ended up:
