This class meets once a week for two blocks for the whole year.  You must choose from one of the following

Music, Media

Have you ever wanted to be a pop star or a DJ? You can learn to play the drums, electric and acoustic guitar, bass and many other instruments. Create your own rock band during class. You will also learn how to DJ and perform at school events. You may use this as a pathway to year 11 & 12.

 

You will create and edit short films in groups using digital video cameras and software. Your work will be shown at the Media Film Night and you may keep a DVD of your creation/s. This can be used as a pathway to Media Production & Analysis in year 11 & 12.

Dance/Drama

Experience improvisation (creative movement styles) funk and modern leading to performance. A safe way to exercise to music through aerobic movement.

Much of the subject focuses on the practical development of skills, students will also evaluate their own work and work towards a public performance. Time will be required for rehearsals.

Art, Craft, Pottery

This course provides a stimulating focus for all students who like drawing,  painting, printmaking, working with clay and mosaic work.  Models include kites, papermaking and decorative mirrors. You will also be given the opportunity to plan design and express your imagination and personal ideas.

Design Imaging Graphics & Photography 

This course investigates the process

of design using computers, digital cameras and the internet. Software used includes Macromedia Flash MX and Dreamweaver MX. Practical skills will be developed through the completion of tasks (designing

and printing ‘T’ shirts, producing pages

for the college newsletter/magazine). Exploration of photographic materials, techniques and principles, Involvement in developing trends in negative and positive production. Lap top computer print manipulation and digital camera work.
